Left End is a climbing area in the Hammond Pond Wild Forest in New York, managed by the State Department of Conservation. It sits alongside the Main Cliff and Right End climbing areas, each about 0.1 mile away, and is part of a cluster of climbing spots in the wild forest. The area has five trad routes, with grades ranging from 5.7 to 5.11a. Cowpoke Chimney is a 5.7, and WISWIG is the hardest at 5.11a. The routes are all trad, and the area is best suited for climbers who prefer that style. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Lake Placid show July highs around 74°F with lows near 54°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s.
