Main Face is a climbing area in the Wilcox Lake Wild Forest in New York, managed by the State Department of Conservation. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, including Upper Measles Wall, Measles Walls and Wayout Wall, all within about a tenth of a mile, and the Crane Mountain Path is just as close. The area is set up for trad climbers, with five routes, all rated between 5.6 and 5.8-. The routes are all traditional, and the grade range runs from 5.6 to 5.8-. Chossmonaut, Fits and Arms and Providence are all 5.6, In the Beginning is 5.7, and Straits of Fear is 5.8-. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 75°F with lows near 54°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s. The station sits a few hundred feet lower than the climb, so temperatures at the crag may run slightly cooler.
