Super Sketchy Blue Moon Trail is a short, easy hike in Ward Pound Ridge County Park in New York, on county-managed land. The route is an out-and-back about 1.3 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 226 feet. The climb starts steep, with a grade of about 4% at the first 0.17 miles, but the trail is front-loaded, so the hardest part is behind you after the first leg. The most comfortable months for a visit are late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 70°F in May and 74°F in September. Midsummer is warmer, with July highs near 83°F. Several other trails and climbing areas sit close by. The Yellow Trail is just 0.1 mile away, the Red Trail is about half a mile off, and Ward Pound Ridge Reservation is also about half a mile away. The Westchester Wilderness Walk/Zofnass Family Preserve is roughly 4.3 miles away.
