White Trail is a 0.43-mile, out-and-back hike in Ward Pound Ridge County Park in New York, on county land. The route rises from about 643 feet to about 864 feet, a total gain of 392 feet over the course of the round trip. That makes it a moderate hike, and the steepest stretch comes within the first third of the trail, where the grade reaches about 13%. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run highs around 70°F in May and 74°F in September, with July the warmest month at about 83°F. The station sits a few hundred feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures up top run a little cooler. The hike takes about half an hour. The Blue Trail is just 0.1 mile away, and the Yellow Trail and the Super Sketchy Blue Moon Trail are each about 0.6 mile off. Climbers can head to Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, roughly 0.9 mile away.
