Cornish Trail is a 2.5-mile moderate hike in Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve in New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. The trail rises from about 1,050 feet to a high point of 1,063 feet, with a total climb of 798 feet and a total descent of 1,159 feet. The route is rolling, and the steepest stretch comes at about 1.6 miles in, where the grade reaches 33%. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at West Point put May highs around 72°F and September highs around 76°F, while July averages about 85°F. That station sits roughly 740 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. Bikes and horses are not allowed on this route. Several other trails lie within a mile, including the Breakneck Bypass Trail (Red), the Undercliff Trail and the Breakneck Ridge Trail (White). Storm King Mountain, a climbing area, is about 2.3 miles away.
