Conservation Trail is a short, easy hike in Darien Lakes State Park in New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. The trail is an out-and-back route of about 0.7 miles, with a total elevation gain of 39 feet. It starts at roughly 875 feet and reaches a high point of 889 feet, with the steepest stretch at about 0.27 miles in, where the grade reaches about 3%. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Batavia show July highs around 80°F with lows near 61°F, while winter highs stay in the low 30s. The trip takes about half an hour. Shotgun Ridge 1 lies about a mile away, and Conservation Trail (FLT) is about 1.5 miles off.
