Rollercoaster Trail is a short, easy out-and-back hike in New Mexico, set on county land within the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest on Sedillo Ridge. The trail is about 0.9 miles long, with a total elevation gain of about 52 feet, so it's a gentle walk that fits easily into a longer day on the ridge. The route starts and ends at roughly 7,411 feet, with the high point at about 7,470 feet. It's a low-effort outing, and the trail's brevity makes it a good choice for a quick stop or a warm-up before heading to other trails in the area. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from the Sandia Park weather station, about 11.5 miles away, show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 77°F, with lows in the low 40s. That station sits about 440 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the ridge run a little cooler. Several other trails lie close by. Dog Run South is about 0.2 miles away, and Juan Trail and Brannan Trail are each about 0.4 miles off. Rocky Top is about 0.7 miles away.
