Mahogany Trail is a 5.9-mile out-and-back hike in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico, managed by the Forest Service. The trailhead and camping area sit at about 7,469 feet, and the route climbs to a high point of 7,653 feet, a gain of 225 feet over the course of the trip. The trail is rated moderate. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically late spring and early fall. Typical averages from the Sandia Park weather station, about 12 miles away, show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 77°F, with July and August running warmer at about 83°F. The Mahogany Trailhead/Camping Area is the starting point. Several other hikes lie close by, including Bear Scat at 0.1 mile and Another Juan (Bites the Dust) at 0.2 mile. Rocky Top is about 1.2 miles away, and the Big Block climbing area is roughly 2.4 miles off.
