Overlook is an easy hike of about 1.5 miles in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is an out-and-back with a total elevation gain of about 140 feet, rising from roughly 7,180 feet to about 7,350 feet. The route is natural-surface and allows both horses and bikes. It is not an accessible trail. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from the nearby Sandia Park weather station run to highs around 73°F in May and 77°F in September, while winter highs sit in the low 40s. Several other trails start close by, including That Way Trail (243) about 0.1 mile away, Deer Bed at 0.2 mile, Madera Locura at 0.3 mile and La Barba at 0.4 mile. Climbers can find Pino Wall about 4.4 miles off.
