East Baldy is a short, easy hike in the Pecos Wilderness, part of the Pecos-Las Vegas Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest in northern New Mexico. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is a natural-surface out-and-back that gains about 640 feet in elevation over roughly 1.2 miles. The route starts at about 11,876 feet and reaches a high point of about 12,533 feet. The trail is rated easy, and it is not open to bikes. It makes a quick outing for anyone already exploring the wilderness area. Several other hikes sit within about a mile and a half, including Rito Perro, Trailriders and Sebadilloses. For an overnight stay, Iron Gate campground is about 5 miles away.
