Bob Grounds is a hard hike in the Pecos Wilderness, part of the Pecos-Las Vegas Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest in northern New Mexico. The nearest town is Geronimo, about 6 miles away. The trail is an out-and-back of about 8 miles, with a one-way climb of roughly 1,500 feet from a low point of about 9,500 feet to a high of about 10,500 feet. The route is on natural surface, and horses are allowed. Bikes are not. The Forest Service manages the land. The Larkspur Trail (260) and the Pecos trail both start within a mile. Iron Gate campground is about 4 miles away, and Jacks Creek Group Area, a river fishing spot, is about 5 miles off.
