Coyote Trail is a short, easy out-and-back hike in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about half a mile long, with a low point of 6,498 feet and a high of 6,567 feet, so the climb is a gentle 59 feet of elevation gain. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Sandia Park weather station show May highs around 73°F and October highs around 65°F, while winter highs there sit in the low 40s. The Coyote-Chamisoso Link is about 0.4 miles away, and the Chamisoso Trail is about a mile off. Climbers can head to Ranger Station Wall, about 1.2 miles away, and the Ranger Rock Trail is also about 1.2 miles away.
