Columbine Canyon is a hard hike in the Columbine-Hondo Wilderness, part of the Questa Ranger District of Carson National Forest in northern New Mexico. The nearest town is Moly, about 3.4 miles away. The trail is an out-and-back of about 6.5 miles, with a one-way elevation gain of 2,750 feet, from a low point of 8,473 feet to a high of 11,206 feet. The trail is on natural surface and allows horses. Bikes are not permitted. Placer Fork starts just 0.1 mile away, and Columbine Creek Trail #71 is about half a mile off. Columbine campground sits about 2 miles away, and the Red River offers canoeing about 2.3 miles away.
