Placer Fork Shortcut is a 1.2-mile out-and-back hike in the Columbine-Hondo Wilderness, part of the Questa Ranger District of Carson National Forest in New Mexico. The trail runs from a low point of about 11,075 feet to a high of about 11,581 feet, with a total elevation gain of 492 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is open from March 15 to November 15. Horses are allowed, and the trail surface is natural. Biking is not permitted. The route is rated easy. Willow Fork and Deer Creek Trail #69 are both about 1.5 miles away. Goose Lake Fishing is about 1.5 miles off, and the Twining campground sits about 3.4 miles from the trail.
