Challenge Trail is an easy out-and-back hike in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico, about 1.6 miles long with a one-way climb of 735 feet. The trail runs from a low point of about 9,122 feet to a high point of about 9,873 feet, making it a short, straightforward outing for a day on the higher ground. The trail sits within the Forest Service's Sandia Ranger District and is managed by the Forest Service. The route starts close to several other trails and climbing areas, so it works well as the center of a longer trip in this corner of the district. Lower 9 Mile Road, a cross-country skiing route, lies just 0.1 mile away, and the 9 Mile Loop Trail is 0.2 mile off. Capulin and the Ridge Trail are both about 0.4 mile away. For climbers, Yucca Flower Tower is roughly 1.6 miles from the trail.
