Cdt-Alt is an easy out-and-back hike on Bureau of Land Management land within the Las Cruces District Office in southern New Mexico. The route runs about 4 miles and climbs roughly 430 feet, from a low point of about 4,579 feet to a high of about 5,030 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Columbus, NM weather station, which sits about 965 feet lower than the high point, show October highs around 81°F with lows near 51°F, while June and July average highs in the upper 90s.
