Cdt is an easy, short out-and-back hike on Bureau of Land Management land in the Las Cruces District Office of New Mexico. The trail is about 2 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 34 feet, so it's a gentle walk that covers little ground and doesn't require a significant climb. The route starts and ends at roughly 4,355 feet, with the high point at about 4,392 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Columbus, NM weather station show April and October highs around 81°F, while July and August average highs near 96°F. That station sits a few hundred feet lower, so temperatures on this hike run slightly cooler. Several other routes lie close by.
