Graduate Cliff is a climbing area in Nevada's Rainbow Mountain Wilderness, within the Red Rock/Sloan Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management. It sits among several other climbing areas and trails, including The Case Face, Willow Spring and Lost Creek Trail, all within about a tenth of a mile. The area is a cluster of rock faces rather than a single route. Six routes are listed, and they run from trad climbing at 5.7 up to mixed climbing at 5.11c. The oldest of them is The Graduate, a 5.10b first ascended by Randal Grandstaff and others in 1975. The hardest is Acid Jacks, a mixed route at 5.11c. The rest, including Walk to School and Killa Whale, are trad. Spring and fall bring the most comfortable weather. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 70°F with lows near 47°F in April to highs around 75°F in October, while July and August average highs in the mid-90s. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet lower than Graduate Cliff, so temperatures on the cliff run cooler. Red Rock Canyon Campground is about 7 miles away, and Spring Mountains Visitor Gateway Group Picnic Sites is about 9 miles away.
