Hobart Road is an easy, out-and-back hike of about 1.6 miles in the Carson Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest in Nevada. The trail rises from a low point of about 5,160 feet to a high point of roughly 5,431 feet, with a total elevation gain of 554 feet. The climb is gentle for the most part, though the steepest section comes early on, around 0.07 miles from the start, with a grade of about 12 percent. The most comfortable time to go is late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Carson City show May highs around 70°F with lows near 43°F, and September highs around 81°F with lows near 46°F. That station sits about 670 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the road run cooler. The hike takes about an hour to complete. Two other roads lie about 0.3 miles away, County Route 270 and Franktown Creek Road. Baldy Green is about 1.7 miles off, and Washoe Lake State Park Campground is about 2.8 miles away for anyone planning an overnight stay.
