Washoe Lake State Park Campground is a Nevada State Parks campground about 2 miles from Lakeview, between Reno and Carson City. The park sits with views of the Sierra Nevada mountains, and its shallow lake makes it a spot for windsurfing. Birdwatching is also a draw here. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Carson City show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 81°F, while July averages about 90°F. Several trails start close by, including Prospect Rd, Wildlife Loop Trail and Deadman's Creek Trail, all within a mile. Climbers can head to Washoe Boulders, about 2 miles away.
