Griffith Peak is a hard hike in Nevada's Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, part of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. The trail is an out-and-back that climbs from about 8,320 feet to 10,810 feet, with a total elevation gain of 2,428 feet over a route of about 10.7 miles. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trailhead is named Griffith Peak Trailhead. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows horses, but bikes are not permitted. The open season runs from May 1 to November 30, so plan for a trip within those months. Several other destinations sit within a few miles. Schaefer Springs Loop and Griffith Shadow Trail are both under 3 miles away, and Kyle Canyon Campground and Kyle Canyon Picnic Area Day Use are about 3 miles off.
