Bad Rock Canyon is a climbing area in the Hungry Horse Ranger District of Montana's Flathead National Forest, about 1.4 miles from the small community of Conkelley. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Hungry Horse Dam weather station show July highs around 82°F with lows near 53°F and only about seven wet days in the month. Winters are cold, with January highs around 31°F and lows near 20°F. The closest outing is the Columbia Mt. Loop hike, under a mile away. The Dam Loop and Lion Lake hikes are both within about 3.3 miles. For an overnight stay, Doris Creek Campground sits roughly 7.9 miles from the canyon.
