Wrangle Creek is a hard hike in Montana's Lolo National Forest, within the Missoula Ranger District. It is a 7.9-mile out-and-back that climbs from about 5,079 feet to 6,836 feet, with an elevation gain of 1,723 feet. The trail is natural-surface and allows horses. The trail is open year round, and the surrounding area offers a cluster of routes for hikers and mountain bikers. Carter Lake and Rattlesnake Creek are both about a quarter mile away, and the Wrangel Creek Trail for mountain biking is about 0.3 miles off. Climbers will find the Northwest Region climbing area roughly 1.7 miles away.
