Wrangel Creek Trail is a short mountain biking route in the Missoula Ranger District of Lolo National Forest in western Montana, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about a third of a mile long, with a total elevation gain of 32 feet and a total loss of 72 feet, so it's a low-impact ride that can be done quickly. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Seeley Lake show July and August highs around 83°F with lows in the low 40s, and those months also have the fewest wet days of the year. That station sits about 1,000 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. Several other routes start close by. Rattlesnake Creek and Carter Lake are both about 0.3 miles away, and the Rattlesnake Trail, another mountain biking route, is about 0.9 miles off. Climbers can head to the Northwest Region, roughly 1.9 miles away.
