Warex Peak is a hard hike in the Rexford Ranger District of Montana's Kootenai National Forest, about 7 miles from the nearest town. The trail is an out-and-back that climbs from about 5,377 feet to 6,241 feet, with a total gain of 568 feet over roughly 7 miles. The route is on natural surface, and the Forest Service allows both horses and bikes. That makes it a flexible option for riders and pack animals. Several other destinations sit within a few miles. McGuire Creek is about 1.6 miles away, and McGuire Mtn. Lookout Rental is about 2.8 miles off. Rocky Gorge Campground and the Rocky Gorge Nature Trail are both about 2.9 miles away.
