Parsnip Overlook is an easy hike of about 1.2 miles in the Rexford Ranger District of Montana's Kootenai National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is an out-and-back with a low point of about 2,699 feet and a high of about 2,785 feet, and it gains about 108 feet of elevation. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Eureka put July and August highs around 86°F with lows in the low 50s, while September cools to highs near 75°F. The trail is on natural surface and bikes are allowed. North Fork Parsnip Creek is about half a mile away, and High Divide is about a mile off. Rocky Gorge Campground and the Rocky Gorge Nature Trail are both within about 2 miles.
