McGuire is a hard out-and-back hike in the Rexford Ranger District of Montana's Kootenai National Forest, about 23 miles long with a total elevation gain of 1,378 feet. It rises from a low point of 2,638 feet to a high of 6,970 feet, making it a significant climb over natural trail surfaces. The Forest Service manages the land. The route is open from June through October. Parking is at the McGuire/Inch TH 446-Upper trailhead. Bikes and horses are allowed on the trail. McGuire Mtn. Lookout Rental sits just 0.1 mile from the trail. The McGuire/inch mountain biking area is 0.9 mile away and the Lydia Pinkham route is 1.7 miles off. Rocky Gorge Campground is 5.4 miles away.
