Peck Gulch is an easy hike of about 2.3 miles on natural trail in the Rexford Ranger District of Montana's Kootenai National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. It's an out-and-back route with a one-way elevation gain of 1,265 feet, climbing from about 2,737 feet to roughly 3,784 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Fortine weather station, which sits a few hundred feet lower, put July highs around 84°F with lows near 50°F, and September highs around 72°F. Bikes are allowed on this trail. Peck Gulch Campground lies about 0.8 miles away, and the Peck Gulch Crags hike is about 0.7 miles off. Climbers can head to the Dihedral Wall about 1.4 miles away, and the Koocanusa Area fishing waters are about 6.5 miles away.
