Tally- Ashley is a hard hike of about 6 miles in the Tally Lake Ranger District of Flathead National Forest in northwest Montana. It is an out-and-back route that climbs from a low point of about 3,400 feet to a high point of about 5,275 feet, with an elevation gain of roughly 1,870 feet one way. The trail is on natural surface and is open to both horses and bikes. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is on the Tally Lake Ranger District, about 0.2 miles from Tally Lake Campground, which makes a convenient base for the trip. The open season runs from June 1 to October 31, and the route is on Forest Service land. The trip pairs well with other hikes and camping in the area. Tally Lake Campground is right next door, and Tally Lake Overlook and Tally Gorge are both within about a mile. Boney Gulch is about 2 miles away.
