Starry Goat is a hard hike in the Three Rivers Ranger District of Montana's Kootenai National Forest, about 10.6 miles long with a one-way climb of 1,606 feet. The trail is on natural surface, and bikes are allowed. The route is an out-and-back that starts at about 2,738 feet and climbs to about 4,120 feet. It is a long, steep route that suits a day of steady effort rather than a quick outing. Callahan Creek, about 1.4 miles away, and the Callahan Historic Trail, about 1.5 miles away, are the closest outings. The Troy Walking Path is about 1.9 miles off, and Alvord Lake is about 3.6 miles away.
