Round Meadow Loop is a 6.6-mile moderate loop in the Tally Lake Ranger District of Montana's Flathead National Forest. The trail begins and ends at the Round Meadow Trailhead, and the climb is a balanced one, with a total gain and loss of about 530 feet. The high point sits at 3,410 feet, and the steepest stretch comes around mile 2.9, where the grade reaches about 7 percent. The loop is a single, self-contained outing rather than a multi-day route, and it takes roughly 2.5 hours to complete. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical July and August highs reach about 80°F with lows in the low 40s, based on averages from a nearby weather station in Olney, Montana. Winters there are cold, with January highs typically near 28°F. Several other trails sit close by. Chechako is about 0.6 miles away, and the mountain biking routes Fox Run and Lookout are each about 0.8 miles off. For an overnight stay, Tally Lake Campground lies about 3.9 miles from the trailhead.
