Chechako is a 2.67-mile hike in the Tally Lake Ranger District of Flathead National Forest in Montana. The route is an out-and-back, about 5.3 miles round trip, with a total climb of 240 feet, so it's a low-effort outing rather than a steep ascent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Olney weather station show July and August highs around 80°F with lows in the low 40s. Winters are cold, with January highs near 28°F. Several other outings sit close by. Round Meadow Loop, a mountain biking route, is about 0.2 miles away, and the Lookout cross-country ski area is about 0.4 miles off. The Tu Minnie Chief hike is about 0.8 miles away. For an overnight stay, Tally Lake Campground is about 4.1 miles away.
