Marble Mountain is an out-and-back hike of about 11.7 miles in the Hebgen Lake Ranger District of Custer Gallatin National Forest in Montana, managed by the Forest Service. The route climbs from a low point of about 6,571 feet to a high of about 8,042 feet, a gain of roughly 1,564 feet. The trail is a natural-surface route that allows both horses and bikes, so riders and pack animals can share the path. Parking is at the Cinnamon Creek trailhead, and the trail is open year-round. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Big Sky run to highs around 78°F in July, with lows in the low 40s. That station sits well below the mountain, so temperatures up high run cooler. Albino Lake is about a mile away and Slide Creek about 2 miles off. Wapiti Cabin, a campground, and the Big Sky Grit climbing area are each within about 3 miles.
