Teepee Creek is a moderate out-and-back hike in Montana's Custer Gallatin National Forest, on the Bozeman Ranger District. The trail is 9.1 miles long, with an elevation gain of 1,114 feet, climbing from about 6,684 feet to about 7,637 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trailhead parking is named Teepee Creek. The route is open year round. The climb is a steady gain, and the trail surface is natural. Horses are allowed, but bikes are not. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Big Sky run to highs in the upper 70s in July and August, with lows in the low 40s. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the ridge run cooler. Crown Butte, a mountain biking area, is just 0.6 miles away. Wilson Draw and Daly Creek Trail are both within about 2 miles. Tom Miner Campground, about 6 miles off, is the closest place to camp.
