Lindbergh is a 5.2-mile out-and-back hike in Montana's Mission Mountains Wilderness, within the Swan Lake Ranger District of Flathead National Forest. The trail rises from a low point of 4,329 feet to a high of 4,770 feet, with a total elevation gain of 1,362 feet over the course of the round trip. The climb is steady, and the steepest stretch comes at about 2.4 miles in, where the grade reaches 13 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Lindbergh Lake weather station show July and August highs around 78°F with lows near 50°F and only about seven wet days a month. That station sits roughly 450 feet below the trail's high point, so temperatures on the ridge run a little cooler. The hike is open year-round, and the trip takes about 2.5 hours. Bikes are not allowed, and the trail surface is natural. Lindbergh Lake Campground is about 5.8 miles away, and Crystal Lake is just half a mile off. Glacier Lake Feeder and Glacier Creek are both about 3.3 miles away.
