Frog Rock is an easy, short out-and-back hike of about 1.8 miles in the Bozeman Ranger District of Custer Gallatin National Forest in Montana, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises about 63 feet from a low point of roughly 5,608 feet to a high of about 5,715 feet, and the climb is gentle enough to make it a quick stop rather than a full day on the trail. The trail's natural surface carries horses and bikes, so riders and pack animals can join the walk. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Bozeman show July highs around 82°F with lows near 52°F, while winter months bring highs in the low 30s and regular snow days. Rocky Canyon and East Crags Trail both sit about half a mile away, and the Main Area climbing area is about 0.6 miles off. For an overnight stay, Trail Creek Cabin is about 5.6 miles away.
