Leverich Canyon is a hard hike in the Bozeman Ranger District of Custer Gallatin National Forest in Montana, about 5 miles long with a total elevation gain of 1,098 feet. The trailhead is called Leverich Canyon Trailhead, and the parking is labeled LEVERICH CANYON. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is natural-surfaced, with horses and bikes allowed. The climb starts at about 5,733 feet and reaches a high point of 6,889 feet. July is the warmest month, with typical highs around 78°F and lows near 41°F, based on averages from a nearby weather station at Big Sky. Winters are cold, with January highs typically around 30°F. The hike is open year-round, and the estimated time is about 2 hours. Kirk Hill is a hike less than a mile away, and Lower Hyalite campground is about 1.8 miles off. Moser Highlands Road, a mountain biking route, and the Practice Rock climbing area are both about 2 miles away.
