East Windy Pass is a moderate out-and-back hike in the Yellowstone Ranger District of Custer Gallatin National Forest in Montana, about 4.3 miles long with a one-way elevation gain of 1,376 feet. The trail starts at a low point of about 7,880 feet and climbs to a high of about 9,261 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is natural-surface. Horses are allowed, but bikes are not. For a full day, Lake Elsie is about 1.3 miles away and Big Creek, a mountain biking area, is about 1.2 miles away. The Gallatin River, about 4.3 miles off, offers canoeing, and Tom Miner Campground, about 8.4 miles away, is a place to camp.
