Bark Cabin is a long, steep out-and-back hike in the Yellowstone Ranger District of Custer Gallatin National Forest in Montana. The trail climbs from about 6,520 feet to roughly 9,635 feet, a gain of 2,260 feet over 9.7 miles, and it is rated as an expert route. The Forest Service manages the land. The trail is natural-surfaced and open year-round. Horses are allowed, but bikes are not. The route makes a natural base for a longer stay in the area, with several other destinations within a few miles. Big Creek and Mist Creek are both hikes about 1.2 miles away. The Gallatin River, a canoeing run, is about 3.9 miles off, and Big Creek Cabin, a campground, is about 5.8 miles away.
