The Boneyard is a climbing area in Kentucky's Muir Valley Nature Preserve, managed by a non-governmental organization. It sits among several other named climbing areas, including Animal Crackers Wall, Bibliothek and Persepolis, all about 0.1 mile away. The preserve holds 32 routes, with sport climbing the dominant style. The grades run from 5.6 up to 5.12c, and the hardest route is The Warrior's Path, a sport climb at 5.12c. Among the sport routes are Stealing Melinda at 5.9 and Tanduay Time at 5.10d. For timing, fall is the most comfortable season. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Beattyville show October highs around 69°F with lows near 44°F, and September and October see the fewest wet days of the year. Nearby, Cliff Trail #206 and Koomer Ridge are both about 3.6 miles away. Miguel's Campsite is about 4.3 miles off, and the Middle Fork Red River offers paddling about 4.9 miles away.
