The Sanctuary is a climbing area in Kentucky's Muir Valley Nature Preserve, managed by a non-governmental organization. The preserve holds several climbing spots within a short distance of one another, and The Sanctuary sits among them, with Inner Sanctum and Indy Wall each about 0.1 mile away. The area offers both sport and trad routes, with 18 total routes and a grade range from 5.8+ to 5.14a. The median grade is 5.12b. Sport climbers will find Blue Collar (5.12b) and Cherry Red (5.14a) among the options, while trad climbers can try Dirty Old Men (5.8+) and Conquistador of the Crumbly (5.10+). For timing, September and October tend to be the most comfortable months, with typical highs around 79°F and 69°F and fewer wet days than the rest of the year.
