The Selkirk Crest is a climbing area in northern Idaho, managed by the State Department of Land. It sits among a cluster of alpine routes, with the East Face/Chimney Rock and West Face/Chimney Rock climbing areas each within about two miles. The routes here are all alpine in style, and they range from 5.4 to 5.11d on the YDS scale, with the Shields-Lunceford line at the top of that range. The area's five routes fall into two groups: the easier 5.4s like SE Slab and West Ridge, and the harder 5.11s, including Shadow of the Marmot and Shields-Lunceford. The alpine style suggests the climbs are set in open, high-country terrain, so expect to plan for a day on the rock rather than a short approach. Nearby, the Mount Roothaan Trail and Beehive Lakes hikes lie within about four miles. For an overnight stay, the Fs Trail 268 (Two Mouth Lakes Access) campground is about 5 miles away. Paddlers can find the Pack River about 8 miles off.
