East Face/Chimney Rock is a climbing area in the Sandpoint Ranger District of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests, managed by the Forest Service. It sits in the Idaho Panhandle, about 10 miles from the town of Sandpoint. The area is a cluster of climbing routes on the East Face and Chimney Rock. It is a traditional climbing destination, with seven routes all rated in the 5.10 to 5.11 range. The East Face Direct and Canary Legs are both 5.10b, and the hardest is Tsumani at 5.11+. The West Face/Chimney Rock climbing area is just 0.1 mile away, and the Chimney Rock climbing area is 0.4 mile away, so climbers can easily pair routes across the two. The Selkirk Crest climbing area is about 1.7 miles away, and the Mount Roothaan Trail is about 1.9 miles away for a hike. Roman Nose Campground is about 6 miles away.
