Marie Creek is a 24-mile out-and-back hike in Idaho's Coeur d'Alene River Ranger District, part of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. The trail rises from a low point of 2,383 feet to a high of 3,643 feet, a climb of 1,383 feet one way, and it is rated hard. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is on natural surface. Horses are allowed, but bikes are not. The trail is open year-round. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Coeur d'Alene show July and August highs around 83°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter highs sit in the mid-30s. That station sits roughly 1,500 feet below the trail's high point, so temperatures on the route run cooler. Wolf Lodge Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 1.3 miles away. The Orange Trail and Blue Trail are both within about 4.5 miles, and Beauty Creek Campground is about 6.2 miles off.
