Lodge Loop is a short, easy hike of about 1.4 miles on natural surface in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, part of the Sawtooth National Forest in Idaho. It's an out-and-back route with a total elevation gain of about 60 feet, so it's a gentle walk that starts and ends at roughly the same point. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical July and August highs reach about 80°F with lows in the upper 30s, based on averages from a nearby weather station at Stanley. Winter is cold, with January highs around 29°F. Bikes are allowed on the trail, which makes it easy to pair with another short outing. Galena View Loop and the Harriman Trail both sit about 0.1 mile away, and Chemeketan Campground is about 5.3 miles off for an overnight stay.
