Galena View Loop is a 2-mile out-and-back hike in Idaho's Sawtooth National Recreation Area, part of the Sawtooth National Forest. The trail is an easy walk with a low elevation gain of 88 feet, rising from about 7,288 feet to about 7,394 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is natural-surfaced and open year-round. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Stanley show July and August highs around 80°F with lows near 39°F and only five or six wet days a month. That station sits roughly 900 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the loop run cooler. The trail is close to several other routes, with the Harriman Trail, Lodge Loop and Cabin Loop Ski all about 0.1 mile away. Chemeketan Campground is about 5.4 miles off.
