Liars Pass is a hard hike of about 12.7 miles on the Teton Basin Ranger District of Idaho's Caribou-Targhee National Forest. It's an out-and-back route with a total elevation gain of about 2,000 feet, starting at a low of roughly 5,957 feet and climbing to about 8,010 feet at the pass. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 79°F and lows near 48°F, with snow days dropping to zero from June through September. That station sits about 1,600 feet below the pass, so expect temperatures up high to run cooler. The trail is on natural surface and is open to horses and bikes. It is not accessible. North Pine, West Pine and Poison Creek are all within about a mile and a half. For camping, Pine Creek Campground is about 3.6 miles away.
