Eckland Loop is a moderate out-and-back hike in Idaho's Sawtooth National Forest, within the Minidoka Ranger District. The route is about 8 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 990 feet, and it reaches a high point of 7,451 feet. The trail starts at roughly 7,100 feet and ends at a similar elevation, so the climb is balanced with a descent of the same amount. The hike is rolling, with the steepest stretch coming about half a mile from the start, where the grade reaches about 11 percent. The trip takes about 3 hours, and the Forest Service manages the land. Bostetter Campground sits just 0.6 miles away, and Father and Sons Campground is about 1.5 miles off. For more hiking, Trapper Creek and Cotton Ridge are both within about 3 miles.
