Monument Peak is an easy out-and-back hike in the Minidoka Ranger District of Idaho's Sawtooth National Forest, about 1.1 miles from the Forest Service's land unit boundaries. The trail is short and low, with a total round-trip distance of about 2.3 miles and a total elevation gain of about 584 feet. The climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 0.49 miles from the start, where the grade reaches 10%. The peak sits at about 7,996 feet, and the trail begins at about 7,754 feet. Monument Peak East lies about 0.4 miles away, and Jones Creek Cutoff is about 0.7 miles off. Trout Creek is about 1.1 miles away, and Father and Sons Campground is about 2.9 miles away for an overnight stay.
