Crane Meadows is a hard hike in Idaho's Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness, on the Krassel Ranger District of the Payette National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is a natural-surface out-and-back that runs about 9.2 miles round trip, with a one-way climb of about 337 feet from a low point of 7,399 feet to a high of 8,023 feet. The route is rated hard, and the trail is open to horses. Bikes are not allowed. Boulder Creek lies just 0.1 mile away, and South Fork Chamberlain Creek and Beaver Creek are both within about 2.3 miles. Chamberlain Basin campground is about 9.2 miles away.
